Binger’s Korbyn Skipworth – Softball Spotlight Presented by Bank of Commerce
Binger-Oney High School senior Korbyn Skipworth is the starting third baseman for the fastpitch softball team. Returning to school and the playing field for her final season was a big deal. “I was very excited to get my senior year and the fastpitch softball season started. I have looked forward to another chance to show everyone what my team can accomplish this season. We have big goals to meet this year,” said Skipworth.
Playing with this group of girls is a special moment for Skipworth as a senior, noting this team’s confidence and excitement to prove it on the field. “The thing I love most about my team is how they welcomed and supported me as a part of the team from day one when I moved to Binger last year. I love that we work together as a team every single game,” said Skipworth.
The senior also plays on a travel club, but when she’s not on the field Skipworth enjoys relaxing and spending time with family and friends. “I play travel softball for the Oklahoma Athletics Premier 18u Team Madden. I’m a member of the FBC Mtn. View. When I’m not playing softball, I most enjoy spending time with my friends and family,” said Skipworth.
Her plans for the future include attending college and continuing to play the sport she loves at the next level. “After I graduate, I plan to attend and play softball for the University of Central Oklahoma and pursue a degree in Special Education. Roll-Chos,” said Skipworth.
Skipworth said she has been very fortunate to have many mentors in her life. “Whether it has been from my family about life, my teachers about education or my coaches about sports, I have been taught and coached by the best out there. It’s hard to pick one person but someone who has made a big impact on my life is my dad because he has spent countless hours helping me at the field,” said Skipworth.
