Gunner Korstjens is a senior basketball point guard at Bridge Creek High School whose role models come from three very different walks of life.
“My biggest role model is my dad,” Korstjens said, “because he shows me what always doing the right thing looks life. Another role model for me is Tim Tebow because when he played he was always himself and didn’t care what people had to say about it. My favorite teacher is my eighth grade English teacher Mrs. Rudnicki because she built relationships with her students and always supported me on the court.”
Korstjens has been playing basketball for 11 years and said he has put a lot of hard work, patience, and doing the right thing in order for him to find success.
“The highlight of my career is the season I’m in right now,” he said. “I have always wanted to win, to help my team be the best out there, and for them to reach their full potential. That hasn’t always shown up in the win/loss column, but it’s starting to now and it is a good feeling.”
In addition to basketball, Korstjens is also involved in student council and the National Honor Society.
