In his first year as head coach of the Wildcats, Mark Barrett is looking to implement a new system and attitude. With eight returning starters on offense and nine on defense, experienced players should pick it up pretty quick. “We are going to line up in the Pro I formation and run “old school” power football because I think this best fits the type of kids we have but we might tweak it a bit to keep defenses on their toes,” said Barrett. Kaden Adkins (6-2, 190, Sr.) running back is one big reason coach Barrett is excited to run the ball. Ganden Clark (5-9, 170, Sr.) brings a spark to the offense at the same position. The offensive line looks salty with Paris Holmes (6-0, 330, Sr.) at center, Ryan Reddick (6-5, 210, Sr.) on the line and Austin Willis (6-5, 215, Jr.) at tight end. Kirk Harrison (5-10, 190, Jr.) will start at wide receiver giving the Wildcats a chance to throw the ball and stretch the defense.

Coach Barrett expects his defense to fly around the football and create opportunities for the offense. Adkins will start at linebacker with Jacob Botone (5-10, 170, So.) and Levi Nix (6-0, 185, Sr.). The trio will give opposing offenses fits. Willis and Holmes look to cause problems upfront while Jonah Toyekoyah (6-4, 165, Jr.) gets the nod at free safety. The coaching staff will consist of Keith Winfrey, Jake Kinder and Joseph Bearbow. “This is my first year at Carnegie and I am very excited to be here. The kids are hungry and the community is hungry and if we can stay healthy I feel like we can be a very good football team and will find a way to get into the playoffs,” said coach Barrett.
