Athletes put in a lot of work to become better at their sport or sports. Along with practice, there are also trips to the weight room, extra practice, and other things.

Dallas Brothers says that along with all the physical work required, success requires you have to have few other things. “There has been a lot of work for me to be where I am today,” she said. “But you also have to have some skill to be an athlete, but the more you play more you get better. Dedication to your sport is also important in the growth of an athlete. Finally, you have to have respect for others.”

Dallas attends Minco High School, where she is a sophomore. She plays softball and basketball for the Lady Bulldogs. On the softball field, you can find her playing catcher, shortstop, or third base. She says she started playing at a young age and has not looked back.

“I started out at a T-ball catcher in 2010,” she stated. “I moved on to fastpitch in 2013. I have played travel ball and school ball since.”

She plays travel ball for Oklahoma Athletics Gold-Barger and Brothers received the 2019 National Championship 13u All-Tournament USSSA Award. She says that her favorite moment during softball happened during one of her travel ball games.

“I hit my first ever home run when we were playing Force in Chickasha,” she recalled. “The hit went over the centerfielder’s head. It was a great feeling and I was able to celebrate with my teammates.”

Throughout Dallas’ life, she has had people that have been influential, but she says there is one person that has made the biggest impact.

“My dad, Scottie Brothers, is my role model,” she said. “He always pushes me to my fullest potential and he never gives up on me, no matter what happens.”

Brothers is also involved with various groups around campus besides her sports. She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
